Let's go fly a kite

This morning we took Jack to soccer practice which didn't go very well, but he became involved and happy towards the end. We came back and let Charlie nap.

We packed a picnic lunch and met the Thompsons at Lincoln Park. The boys flew a kite. Jack had never done that and was loving it. We taught him to run and keep the kite flying when it was about to fall. He had a blast. Charlie and Theo were watching in wonder and took turns chasing a wiffle ball and eating dirt. Charlie loves to walk and just stop and observe with his hands behind his back. I finally got a picture. If doctors are born walking that way, his fate is sealed.

After kite-flying, we let the boys play on the playground. Those boys were absolutely filthy when it was time to leave. We knew it was time to go when the wind kicked up ten notches and all three boys were melting down. The Thompsons rode their bikes home (how cute is that?!), and we drove.

We napped until 5:15 and then went to dinner with the Thompsons at Penny's noodle shop. I made the mistake of needing more time to choose, and then our waitress didn't come back for quite a while. Like intentionally. Charlie was refusing to eat. He literally threw his cup back over his head across the room. That's a little out of character, but who knows. Jack was devouring the crab wontons and rice. He even used chopsticks! We came home as it was starting to rain.

Overall, a great family day. And Gama and Pops, we have a super smiley picture just for you. Love you!
