Dad

Last Monday, the 5th, Adam got a call that my dad was being taken by ambulance to the hospital and that it didn't look good.  To preserve privacy, I will not share all the details on the blog world, but you're welcome to email if you're curious. Anyway, Sam and I had a lot of decisions to make and very little time to make them, and we were frantic. He was rushed to another hospital for intensive care and over the next few days basically went from dead to alive, and we witnessed a true miracle. Our greatest burden in our prayers was to pray for salvation, not even for healing, just for the chance to tell him about Jesus again, although we had all told him countless times. We believe that if the thief received paradise in his last moments, that God could show Himself to our dad in his sleep. As he was asleep, we read to him, prayed over him, told him we love him and Jesus loves him. As he awoke and came off the vent, we kept realizing the miracle. He had tried to write to us before he was extubated, but all we could make out was L O O. When he came off the vent, I asked him what he had been trying to write. He answered, "I was trying to say 'I love you'."

Friday morning, we had a conversation, and dad shared that Jesus is his Savior, and it had happened the previous night. That night, talking to Sam, he said he had been praying about Jesus. We had never heard him say the sweetest name. How amazing.

It has been a very exhausting and scary nine days, and he's nowhere near out of the woods or the ICU. It has been incredibly rewarding, though. We have seen a huge change, both physically and even more so spiritually. His character is completely different. It is so humbling to be a witness to this life change. We have a long road ahead, but we will get there. We so appreciate every single prayer. Thank you so much.
