This week has been interesting. Very sweet moments followed by some pretty scary ones.
Sweet: On Thursday, our precious friends Lacy & Kaleb had their baby girl Finley. She's gorgeous and just so sweet. We have long-awaited her arrival, and we are crazy about her already! We pray for her little body to be healthy and for her little heart to one day hold tight to Jesus.
Scary: That same day, on the way back from seeing the Deeses, Travis was in a wreck, t-boned by a lady trying to make a turn. He made just the right swerve and avoided being hurt. He said the car spun around. It makes my stomach hurt. So we have a rental until we have the official go-ahead from insurance to replace the car (Barnett's laughed at me when I asked if there was any way we'd drive the car again).
Sweet: We met little Finley as a family Thursday night, and then Charlie and I went and saw the Deeses yesterday morning. That was a sweet visit. Just peaceful and quiet and joyful. Last night we ate at da vinci's with our friends and hung out at David Dykes's afterwards. The fellowship was great.
Scary: And just now, as Travis was heading to Jackson, a lady hydroplaned and hit him while he was driving my car. Thankfully he's fine, and the car is drivable once the alignment is fixed.
It's just enough to shake us both up really good, though. To count it up, in the last 2 months, both boys and I have been to the ER, and Trav has had two wrecks. We're praising God for sparing us from devastation. We certainly have gone to the what-ifs in our minds. If you would, please pray for a continued hedge of protection for us. We would so appreciate it. We are grateful that in the midst of these hiccups we get to watch a new life begin and remember how very good God is.
